- Wash your Ironwood products in warm water and soap.
- Towel dry. Prop up to allow the wood to fully dry.
- Never submerge acacia wood in water or put it in the dishwasher!
- Regular oiling will help to maintain the deep luster of the Acacia wood and ensure your Ironwood products last for years to come.
- When your Ironwood cutting board first arrives it will be thirsty, oil your board once a day for the first week to "season" the board.
- Once your board is seasoned, oil it once a month for the first year, and at least once a year for life.
- Our food-grade blend of mineral and citrus oils is great at preventing cracks.
- Don't use an oil that can go bad like olive or canola oil.
- To deep clean and deodorize your board or bowl make a paste with coarse salt and lemon juice.
- It is highly unlikely that your board will warp if you avoid submerging it in water and oil it regularly.
- If your board warps, wet the warped side of the board and place a heavy object on top and let gravity do its thing. A glass baking dish that is a similar size as the board works well.

I got a cutting board from you and it came cracked. The replacement that came also was cracked. I’m actually shocked. I can’t even imagine how terribly they would hold up since they already break before even being used. Maybe you shouldn’t charge so much for a sucky cutting board. Thanks for wasting my time!
We received a beautiful Ironwood cutting board as a wedding present in June of 2024. Never used, never washed, never submerged in water and the board split and warped. Not a good value. Beautiful wood but seems like a manufacturing issue.

I bought one of these boards because Kenji Lopez-Alt plugged them in his book The Food Lab. I bought some of Ironwood's branded board oil and meticulously followed all the instructions for oiling it; Starting with every day for the first week, once a week for the first month, not leaving it in water, etc . Within about a month, the board had cracked (delaminated?) into one side. I contacted Ironwood, and they were kind enough to replace it... once. About 7 months after receiving the new board, following all the exact same care instructions, the replacement board cracked in the exact same way. I contacted Ironwood/Fox Brands for another replacement and they said they would only replace a maximum of one board. For a decently expensive board like this, I had much higher expectations, both of the board, and of the company. Sadly, I will not be buying or recommending this brand to anyone else.
The board was exquisite!! Gorgeous grain and directions on taking care of this board will make it extremely easy to give as a Christmas Present. My daughter will love it!
