Our Carolina Chopping Board includes everything you need in a cutting board. This brute of a workstation utilizes end grain construction to give the durability needed to withstand the abuse from a cleaver. Made of gorgeous Acacia hardwood, the board is functional and beautiful due to its rich, shimmering colors. Unlike traditionally made boards, end grain construction is less dulling to cutlery because the wood grain direction accommodates cutting instead of resisting it. Wear and tear is minimized on both cutlery and on the board, giving more longevity to your cutting tools.
  • Features neoprene coated feet to minimize movement and includes a stainless steel grommet for hanging.
  • In addition to being an excellent cutting board, this wooden board makes a great serving plate for charcuterie. Include cheese, olives, meats, bread, and more!
  • To remove any bumps that may form on the board, simply buff the area with a fine grain sand paper. Coat your board with butcher's block oil and allow to sit at least one hour prior to use.
  • This gourmet chopping board weighs 12.8 pounds and has dimensions 18 x 18 x 3 inches.
  • Wash your Ironwood products in warm water and soap.
  • Towel dry. Prop up to allow the wood to fully dry.
  • Never submerge acacia wood in water or put it in the dishwasher!
  • Regular oiling will help to maintain the deep luster of the Acacia wood and ensure your Ironwood products last for years to come.
  • When your Ironwood cutting board first arrives it will be thirsty, oil your board once a day for the first week to "season" the board.
  • Once your board is seasoned, oil it once a month for the first year, and at least once a year for life.
  • Our food-grade blend of mineral and citrus oils is great at preventing cracks.
  • Don't use an oil that can go bad like olive or canola oil.
  • To deep clean and deodorize your board or bowl make a paste with coarse salt and lemon juice.
Apply Salt: Sprinkle the cutting board with coarse salt like kosher salt.
Scour the surface: Using a lemon half with the cut side down, scour the surface while squeezing to release lemon juice.
Let sit, then scrape off: Let sit for at least 5 minutes, then scrape away the dirty liquid using a bench scraper or metal spatula.
Rinse: Give the surface a final rinse with a clean sponge. Prop up to dry.
  • It is highly unlikely that your board will warp if you avoid submerging it in water and oil it regularly.
  • If your board warps, wet the warped side of the board and place a heavy object on top and let gravity do its thing. A glass baking dish that is a similar size as the board works well.
  • Feel free to contact us at with any questions.

Best cutting board I've ever seen or owned.... and I've seen and owned a bunch of them.

I am an avid cook and like to have useful and commerical grade kitchen tools.
I've had one of these cutting boards for 25 years and it is like new. I just bought a second one for my daughter as a house warming gift and the new one is exactly like the 25 year old one.
I highly recommend this product. The end grain works great for chopping and helps keep a sharp edge on knives.
I do a lot of cooking and sharpen my own knives. If you like to cook and like to use your cutlery, this is the board to get.
My only suggestion is that you use a putty knife to remove the feet from the bottom. The little groove prevents you from sliding minced things easily off the board. For instance, parsley gets stuck in the groove.

Take off the feet with a putty knife. Use a hammer to drive the putty knife between the foot and the board. Drive it in about a half inch from every angle around the circle toward the center. No not drive it all the way through, just a half inch and the feet will pop off.
Be careful to stop if you feel the nails that hold the feet on. Just tap it in with a hammer about a half inch all the way around. The nail holes "self heal" over time. You do not have to fill them.
Once you remove the feet, then you can use the front and back. The grooved side for meats that bleed and the other side for everything else. I mostly use the smooth side.

Versatile and Beautiful Cutting Board

This cutting board is both aesthetic and versatile. Because it is hardwood, it is very easy to clean. Because it is heavy cutting on it is very stable.

I bought the Carolina Chopping Board, one of the best boards Ironwood Gourmet makes! But before I could make up my mind as to which cutting board to purchase, I called and emailed the company for questions about all their boards. Not only did the representative answer all my questions with utmost details, she also called back to give further details to some of my question. In addition, the owner of the company emailed me multiple times the very next day to help clarify some of my questions, and to help me decide which board is right for my needs. I was so surprised by the personal touch and response rate from the company!

After much research, I finally decided on which board to buy. When I received my cutting board, I was excited to start the oiling and sealing process. After the first wash, I noticed the board took on a rough surface, which I did some research, and later learned that this process is called raised grain and its a common phenomenon. Not knowing this detail initially, I called the company again for help and advice. The rep actually took one of their own boards and did a test wash and rubbed it with mineral to see if she could repeat the same effect. Then she emailed me with pictures of her board, showing that her board stayed smooth and offered to send me her board instead, along with a bottle of their board oil, and to cover the return postage of my board! WOW! What service! To make the long story short, we emailed back and forth numerous times, each time aiming to give the best customer service, offering me multiple options, and to make sure I would be happy with the final result!
I have NEVER had such personal service from a company before! They aimed to please and showed incredible CORPORATE INTEGRITY! They bent over backwards to please me, and strived to meet all my standards. I am so thankful to Ironwood/Fox Runs Brands, and really appreciate the owner and the representatives who helped me. I would love to brag about their names so Amazon customers would know who they are, but to respect their privacy, I will leave that detail out!

All in all, I love my board and am in the process of treating and sealing it with beeswax and mineral oil. It is a beautiful and sturdy board! I just wanted Amazon customers to know that if you decide to purchase a cutting board by Ironwood/Fox Run Brands, you wont regret it, and will be amazed by their customer support and service. They stand behind their products! The owner and representatives deserve not only 10 stars, but should have "The Company Of The Year award! Thank you, Ironwood/Fox Run Brands! I want to give credit where credit is due and thank you for your incredible service!
